Motivation Mountain: Why Climbing Is Worth It

Hey friends, welcome!Today, we’re going to talk about something really important — and kind of exciting — called Motivation Mountain.

But first… let’s slow down and do something you might not get to do very often:

Let’s daydream.

🧠 Imagination Activation

It’s good to sit with your thoughts every now and then.

You can journal, draw, imagine, make a vision board, or write a list of things you want for your future. It might feel hard at first — and that’s okay!Imagination is a skill — and like any skill, the more we practice it, the stronger it becomes.

So let’s practice together.

Close your eyes (or keep them open if that feels safer) and imagine you’re standing at the bottom of a big, tall mountain.

Now imagine that at the very top of that mountain is the life you dream about.

✨ Maybe it’s a peaceful, happy life with no stress, and people who love and support you.✨ Maybe it’s starting a business, being a teacher, traveling the world, playing your favorite sport, or being part of something big.

Or maybe… you’re not quite sure yet.If that’s you, just ask yourself:

  • What do I want to be?

  • Who do I want to become?

Now pause.Draw your dream at the top of your mountain. Or write words that inspire you all around it. Whatever works best for your brain!

🪨 Reality Check: The Climb

Here’s the thing though...

That dream life? It’s not just handed to you.You have to earn it.

You’re standing at the bottom of the mountain right now. And to reach the top, you’ve got to push a boulder uphill.

Sounds tough, right?It is.

But you have plenty of time, and here’s the best part:You’re not alone.

There will be good people who show up to help you. Some will stay a while. Some will only be there for a short season. And a few might climb beside you all the way to the top.

🧗 What It Takes to Climb

To move forward, to climb higher, and to keep going — even when it's hard — here’s what you’ll need:

  • Discipline to do hard things, even when you don’t want to

  • Kindness that invites others to help you

  • Boundaries to protect your energy and stay away from drama and distractions

  • Wisdom to stop wasting time being angry, entitled, or negative

Maybe school feels boring.Maybe it seems like it’s just stealing your fun time or trying to control you.

But it’s not.

School is where you learn how to learn.

And once you know how to learn, you can learn anything:

Coding, flying planes, designing clothes, building houses, helping people — anything.

🔄 Natural Consequences: The Rock Gets Heavier or Lighter

Here's a powerful truth:

  • If you use your energy for good, your rock gets lighter.

  • Good people — the real ones — will help you push it.

  • But if you use your energy to hurt, distract, or give up, the rock gets heavier.

  • And slowly, people will start to step away.

  • If you're not careful, that rock can roll all the way back down…

And you’ll have to start again.

So be wise.Choose to climb.

📜 Words to Remember

Let me leave you with a special poem to carry in your heart:

“Imagine someone telling this guyto carry a rock up the hill without knowing why. It’s a very heavy rock, as you can see,for not just one man but even two or three.Would he be successful in his endeavor? How long would it take him? A month, a year or forever? Now, what if the man was told this:There is something at the top of the hill that you wouldn’t want to miss.Of course there will be people guiding you throughthe storms that come through. But, whenever you make it to the top, then all of your wildest dreams will come true.”

🌟 Final Thoughts

So next time you’re feeling tired, unmotivated, or wondering why anything you’re doing matters, remember this:

  • You’re practicing the climb.

  • You’re learning how to learn.

  • You’re building strength, wisdom, and discipline that your future self is going to thank you for.

And sometimes? You’re just practicing how to be bored and present in the real world. That matters too.

So dream big.Push your boulder.Work through obstacles with trusted people. And keep climbing.

Only growth will come. 💪🌄
