A Fly on the WallBook Two: The Connection Game

I buzzed into class, a place full of cheer,Where friends sit together, and voices are clear. But sometimes I see a scene that’s not bright—When someone acts out, it can cause a big fright.

You see, when you yell, or push, or throw things around,The safe, happy space suddenly can’t be found.Others feel worried, they might want to flee,Because when it’s unsafe, no one’s truly free.

The teacher might say, “It’s time for a break,”Because staying in class when you act up’s a mistake. It’s not about punishment, or making you sad—It’s to keep you and others safe, not mad.

When safety is lost, connections can break,Friends feel unsure if they should stay or takeA step back from someone who’s causing the storm—Because being kind keeps the group safe and warm.

But here’s the good news, it’s not too late,You can choose new ways to help fix the state.Take deep breaths slow, count one, two, three,Find calm inside and let yourself be free.

Use your words gently, say what you feel,Ask for some help — that’s brave and it’s real.Remember, your friends want to see you shine,And sticking together makes the day fine.

When you keep yourself safe and respect those around,You build up connections that hold strong and sound.Loyalty grows in the kind things you do,And friends will be there to stand by you too.

So next time you feel upset or alone,

Remember the fly who’s always flown—

Through classroom and playground, through each rise and fall—

I’m here to remind you: you belong after all.
